Roppongi during the day is like the foreign-company financial center of Tokyo, and at night, it’s all the suki-suki-sleaze that takes its money. Not to say that there isn’t world-class cuisine and nightlife near the Midtown Complex or Roppongi Hills (Joel Robuchon’s Atelier and Morimoto’s XEX are wonderful examples), it’s just that it can be difficult to find these diamonds in the rough.
