sobaya

Many busy Tokyoites have little time to eat when rushing from one place to another. Conveniently, cheap, fast restaurants (not fast-food) are easily found, particularly in and around subway stations. You order by dropping coins into a machine and getting a ticket, which you give to the proprietor to cook immediately. These range from places that serve fast curry rice plates or oyakodon rice bowls to the most traditional of Japanese fast foods, thin buckwheat soba and/or udon noodles served in soup. See the video for soup and sumo.
