The spiritual center of Shibuya. Hachiko the dog is one of the most revered pets in Japanese history, with books and movies
dedicated to his devotion (including a remake of the film starring Richard Gere). This dog would come to the station to meet his master and walk him home at the end of every workday for most of his life. When his master died, he continued to come to the station every single day for over ten years, until his own death, hoping desperately to see his beloved master again. In honor of his loyalty and unfailing devotion, the Japanese have erected a statue of Hachiko in Shibuya station, one of Tokyo’s busiest stations.
It’s the best place to see and meet young locals that hang out, demonstrate, and get ready for crazy nights, right at the statue, and steps away from famous 109 crossing, the busiest intersection in the world.
