tonki

Want to learn how tonkatsu is made? Watch as your meal is created – pork breaded, fried, cut, topped, plated, and brought to you. This is one seriously open kitchen. They only serve one thing here – hearty, but surprisingly delicate breaded, fried pork chops. They’re damn good at it – this place runs like a well oiled machine. Though the black-pork tonkatsu at Maisen is better, Tonki is probably the most famous of all tonkatsu restaurants in Tokyo if you’re an aficionado. Check out Tonki on Tokyo Mango and Tonki on Tokyo Good Eats for more perspectives.
