Since you’ll be jet-lagged anyway, hop on the first train of the morning at 5AM to Tsukiji and you’re sure to get up close and personal with creatures you’ve never seen before. Bring a camera! It’s frantically busy – stay out of the way and don’t lose a limb (or a child), it’s a workspace after all. By 10AM it’s more subdued but the auctions are over – no worries, if you’re a chef, peruse the markets and surrounding areas for interesting tasty creatures, and if you’re up to it, enjoy sushi for breakfast at the long-lined Sushi Dai.
