Here at Kabuki-za in Ginza you can rent headphones for translation, but even Japanese have a hard time understanding what they’re saying, so just sit back and watch while your fellow audience members yell out the names of their favorite actors during pauses in the performance. It’s three hours, so just buy a one act Makumi ticket (they’re limited), the schedule has information about when you can buy tickets and how much they are. Or just show up early and hope something’s going on.
